Hey guys... Anyone have any info on a release date for these engines? I was surfing around the web and found pics on it.

IDM engines

Jerry at XSPower has them. He is the U.S. distributor for the engines. Email him and he will give you the closest hobby shop or dealer to buy it from.

What Kurly said... I already have the IDM EVO4 engine sitting on my end table. Going to give it a test at the Motonica GP here in a few more days.

I went to www.teamxspower.com, and I checked their distributor's webpages. Only webpage I found it on was:
Winners Circle

Not bad for a modified Picco.

I'm curious how the Evo4 will compare in terms of low-end, high-end, fuel consumption. Share your impressions please.

Yes, not a bad price at all.

Picco evo3's were very good on bottom end(sometimes too much, not a linear power band) and over 5mins EASY on fuel consumption with the 2607 pipe, but it wasnt as fast on the straight I think.

Now they released 2651 pipe, I hope they will solve the topend issue too...

Guys can someone tell me how the EVO 4 EDO compare to an EVO4 IDM

Are they the same just branding ? or are there some internal differences ?

There are some internal differences. The case and the rod are the same. There is work done to the crankshaft as well as a slight changes to the sleeve. They are both very good engines.

I recently bought a standard .12 Picco EVO4 to replace my TZ, and to my disappointment the crank didn't have a silicone ramp in it :(. I assumed that since all EVO 3 cranks had them an EVO 4 crank would have one as well.

Oh well...

Still can't wait to break it in and let it loose on the track though..

Where did you Get the Picco EVO 4 motor?

PrimeAKF11 08-31-2009 07:42 AM

Thought I'd give a little update. I am very satisfied with the EVO 4 motor. Even though I still haven't fully leaned it out yet I was pulling on most cars on the straight at yesterday's club race. There was one car that pulled on mine on the A-main and that one was running a Max XXL3. Considering that I still have more room to go and also that I am not running an optimal pipe for this engine (I am running a 2630 pipe and I read Picco engines really come alive when paired with a Picco pipe) I am quite happy. I can't imagine how fast an EDO Modified one is like.

The temperature after a 25 minutes main was 214 deg.

i dont have silicone fillings on my evo 3 crankshaft too :(
planning to get one evo 4 edo mod my self for the upcoming international event. with the standard evo3 engine, i experienced so much torque after shifting to second gear. it just leaps compared to any other engines that i own so far. drives me crazy thinking about the new evo4 series
