My friend's engine......... The craftsmanship and material are pretty rough and not as good as 08 version.

it doesnt look to bad. what makes the crank shaft look horroble is that it has been black coated

Hi,
Does anyone know the difference between the 353 08 and the 353 09 novarossi motors?
thank you

Team Kamikaze 04-07-2009 07:49 PM

353 08 have 2 versions, 1 stock and 1 Tuned, whereas the 353 09 only comes in 1 version which is Tuned.

But which one do you think is better in terms of torque,RPM and reliability?

I have the 353 08 non-tuned and 353 09 tuned... and they pretty much feel the same with only slight differences... the 08 feels like it has a wee bit more torque but then again, it could be due to other factors such as the tuning, clutch, and etc...

the plus point of the 353 09 is its very smooth power band... makes my car almost too easy to drive...

as for reliability, so far nova engines have proven to me to be very sturdy...

man the engine looks sweet:p cant wait to see it in my countries nationals this weekend....

The major difference is 09 crankpin diameter is larger than 08 version.

Others are same except black crankcase and purple head.

looks identical to my old 353, which is the one before 2008 version. except the scoop is larger. the exhaust port might be a little different as well... i forget.
