Can anyone tell me the diff between these three plugs. (see pic)
I was going to order some and noticed the same plug W/three diff titles.
From what I understand they are all conical so what is STD.

1. STD
2. Conical
3. Plus

I know GRP makes a weird plug where the element actually sticks out of the plug. Maybe that is the plus version. Not sure.

No the pics are correct I copied them right from the website. (see link below)
A friend says the plugs are all conical but the plus version is for winter type racing weather rain/snow.
After talking to him I went back to the sight and noticed the STD version which then brought up more questions thats why I asked here.
I know it's probably not a big deal just like to be informed and don't want the wrong thing.

As replied in the Picco topic:

Not sure if I will buy but the place where I can get the Sirio plugs is out of stock and there only 6.75.
But I still wondered after seeing this at Toro.

All 3 plugs in your attached picture are the same, so there is no difference there, BUT:
If you check the GRP site and look at there product information, you can read about the difference....

I have a question to, are this number the engine temperature you need or the outside temperature {weather}??
4 hot
5 medium
6 cold
7 very cold

Because in florida most peoples use #6 and #7 hot temperature!!!

rcrevolution 02-26-2009 06:39 AM

the temp you run has alot to do with engine size, nitro % in the fuel, and temperature outside.

it can be 80 out but if you run 30% nitro in a .21 you might want to run a slightly colder plug.

As you can see, the pic is wrong. That first one should be a standard plug, not a turbo or conical. Just because it's on the web doesn't mean it's right. Hell, I post wrong stuff all the time :D

Yep you were right not having bought these plugs before it just through me off.
My old nitro car used standard plugs so they were pretty easy #8 long.
Thanks for replying.

Anybody else tried out the 'Plus' plugs? I ordered a set, but that extra exposed filament makes the plug just a tad longer than the regular turbo plug. Just a slight worry about the piston hitting that. I doubt that it would (can't see GRP getting a patent on a plug that will destroy your motor), and I ran one last weekend with no problem (at least once I got the carb straightened out, which was another issue entirely).

The element would have to stick out more than 8 or 9 mm to hit the piston. Remember the plug sits way up at the top of a domed combustion chamber. It's no where near the piston.
