defenetly get the 353 09 because it is factory tuned instead of the 353 08. tuned means that the crankshaft has been worked and will now deliver more power

There are differences as tuned will say it is a faster version than the normal.
The differences between stock and tuned can sometimes only noticed when you are a good driver and you can optimise the tuning of the engine to the right spot. If you are not I advise you to buy the cheapest of your list because it will drive the same as the more expensive ones.

Default front bearing issue on 353 09

Hi Guys has anyone had any issues with the front bearing getting all tight and gritty after only a litre or so?

I have run in both my engines 353 09 from the same batch and after approxiately 1 litre of fuel the front bearing comes notchy. It can be felt while the engine is together, when i removed the bearings you can see just how bad it is.

ive emailed novarossi to get some information about this..not happy with such a high end engine!

I have heard bearing quality has gone down. I have seen and heard many engines have their bearings failing within the first gallon.

I have also seen many 353 '09 break their conrod in half right at the first gallon. Anyone else experiencing these problems?

this is not good novarossi. As a user i expect a lot better. they need to up their game, and change the bearing supplier ASAP, or rectify the issue my 353 09 is ok at the moment but heck, i don't want it blowing up during the Australian Nationals which is what i bought it for.

Most ppl run 2630 and 2652. 2630 seems to have more top end, and 2652 more run time.

I readed all the thread and found comments on short conical header + 2652 = best combo but since i cant get 1 locally im asking if any one knows what header gives the best from this engine with the 2630 ( short conical?, med conical?)

thanks

i have mainly used the Med conical with either a 2630 or 2601.
short manifold uses more fuel, but more top end revs. long manifold not as many top end revs, so it uses less fuel. Med header is in between.
