raced the xxl3 today. by the 8th tank it was broken in. unlike the sl3 which took at least 2 litres+!

i ran it last meet with .3mm headshims (standard was .1mm) and it ran very cool, and had very good top end. i will be running it with .1mm once i race it.

ran very cool (80 to 90 degrees celcius! and had very good power.

i used a crf pipe with a long header.

How's the performance with the CRF pipe ? I've tried it using a Nova 353 Tuned with the CRF pipe and the performsnce is superb.

works great. the SL3 had less top end with the 2630 nova pipe and ran hotter. the sl3 had more top end as well, alot more, and better torque. it's probably the same with the xxl3.

xxl3 should have slightly more top end and slightly less bottom end than the XL3. But the XL3 is still no slouch in any department, broke in Number two today.. when I get more time will break in the xxl3 for winternats.

hey guys,

just to share my results, last weekend was our second race in the season... first place went to NT1/Max XXL3 :D my car, the runner up was the winner of our first race but this time i had 5 laps ahead of him after 45 minutes.... the engine is great and has massive power with the new 2602 pipe from minute 1 to minute 45...just one thing, what temp do you guys run your XXL3 at? mine was around 245, is it fine or shall i go under the 240 line?? and what time are you gettin from it? i got about 5 minutes 30 seconds only....

thanks again team kamikaze

cheers
ali

well your temperature seems to be more than ok:p 245f are equivalent to 118c which is great. i usually end up finishing a race at 125c which is 257f.

Ali,
You are welcome, if your XXL3 runs good at 245 then leave it the way it is.

Temperature is somewhat irrelevant. If your engine runs fine at 245, then stay there. I always like to run my Nova's to atleast 270-280. Its where they begin to scream and make the runtime I need. Take care. My advice is always to stay below 295... But that is just my opinion, there are some people who run it above there.

rx7ttlm 01-19-2009 08:13 PM

its also a function of the fuel / lube they use in it.. some fuels you can safely run a bit overlean. I know byron's old fuel in the profuel mix you had to be REALLY careful not to run to lean.. not for temp reasons but for lubrication.

KWT-NITRO 01-21-2009 11:26 AM

hi guys,

thanks alot for the answers, i guess am in the safe side if some of you are running up to 280 :) i would never go pass the 260.

i have another question, am thinking about getting a new XXL3 and send it to Murnan modified. i would love to see how a murnan modified XXL3 will perform.. i sent few emails through their contact us but with no response, first, do you guys think it will be a kick a$$ engine and how can i get a hold of them... thanks again

cheers

p.s. murnan modified xxl3 for our new track here in Kuwait (still not done yet)

Nitro-Racer* 01-21-2009 12:00 PM

well you can be sure that it WIILL be faster than a stock XXL3:nod: if you have the money and time and can wait for the mmm xxl3 motor to be ready then go for it:nod::tire::tire:
