What's up with OS?...

I'm looking for a new standard shaft motor for my HPI super nitro, and was really suprised when I logged into towers site.....there are only 7 or 8 i OS engines being offered, very few 12's...no CVr 18's or TZ's with standard shaft, no 5 port tz12....very little selection.......

Anyone know of a NPS std shaft engine?...

Don't know.

A three port TZ is a strong motor. Don't let the port count fool you.

It might be worth looking into a clutch upgrade that uses pilot shafts. It's getting harder and harder to find full race standard shaft motors.

They should have a new .12 soon. I think they are calling it the XZ.

it's too bad there are no clutch upgrades for the rs 4's...( even the OFNA nut is a PIA...)...

the TZ is SG only.....

There's bound to be a way. Don't know without looking at it though.

if you want with slide get the 18 tz pilot and get the std crankshaft, it will cost you 196
if you want it with rotary, get the pull version plus the backplate, cut the pin on the shaft with a dremel and you should be ok, for a total of 190
either way it is cheaper that getting the 12 tz and makind nps stad shaft slide or rotary!

good luck

I guess that OS decided to discontinue some of their engines due to poor sales. A lot of the current kits are designed for use with pilot shaft engines (which is mostly a good thing), so maybe the chance to sell an engine with a standard crank is reduced to the point where it doesn't make sense to produce them. I have to imagine that you can find one on eBay. They're excellent engines, but maybe the one you're looking for isn't popular anymore.
