All the pipes with the same EFRA approval number are identical. All 2607's are made by Picco and sold under different labels....

Good to know that the rumour that the IDM 2607 was better than the Picco
pipe in some way is false!

The Picco 2607 pipe set gives more power and better runtime, the manifold are different, if you tried the Picco 2607, then you will never want to try a different brand, just go ahead and try it yourself before commenting on it.

B.S.,

all the 2607 have the same header since Picco only makes one and no other headers fit because they are the opposite way from all the others.

The EFRA number is a homologation number which means it has to be sold as an exact copy of the one which is used for the homologation. If there are different pipes they may not be sold under the same number.....

cracked my red dot open today for the first time. it runs great but time for some maint.

i notice that i have a burnt brownish residue inside the button head and the head of the piston has this also. along with what may be the begining of pitting. it doesnt seem to be in the metal, just ontop where it should be brown there are some specs of clean metal.

the rod is going in tomorrow, i have heard of something that can be done to brighten the piston head back up, does anyone know?

Leave the brown residue alone, that is actually a good sign of combustion, just replace the rod and put it back together, and run 1 tank on idle just to break in the rod.

As Sam said, be happy that the brown residue is there. It's castor oil and it's a sign of a healthy engine.

I just lost two engines within two weeks because of bad fuel. The first sign that should have made me suspicious was that the head button and the top of the piston looked like new after running this fuel, where they had casstor residues before...
