I recently purchased the spec II to run at the Toys for Tots race at Crystal park. I was very happy with the motor...and surprised by how quick the new generation of .12's are currently. I used the OS 1040 pipe combo with no issues. From what I understand the spec II has more top end than the original...which makes sense because this motor seemed very fast on top compared to other sedans.

Regarding price, I purchased the motor from a local source and the price was high.

certainly happy so far!

That is a unbelivable price, trust me. The US market hobby shops can not even buy it from the US importer for less than $350.00. I am in to buy 5 from them tomorrow, I bet they tell me not in stock.....
