http://www.jpracing.com/img/products...e/fx21b-8t.gifhttp://www.jpracing.com/img/products...n/fx21b-8t.jpg 8 ports ABC Sleeve

This 8 ports sleeve is revolutionary in the Off-Road engine’s range. The exhaust has two boosters in order to increase performances and manage the fuel consuption on the best.

The last generation conrod is lightened with 2 bushings. The piston is also pierced to decrease the piston temp.

http://www.jpracing.com/img/products...n/fx21b-8t.jpg Turbo Crankshaft

The modified and lightened crankshaft is filled with the special red putty which is positionned to improve the gas passage. In order to reduce the friction and the wear, the crankshaft is HardBlack coated.
The Turbo design of the crankshaft's head highly improves the engine power. For best performances !

http://www.jpracing.com/img/products...r/fx21b-8t.jpg Carburetor

The special Off-Road carb is made of plastic in order to avoid the «vapor-lock». As all FX Engines, it has a simple adjustment (1 screw). The adjustment is easier

If this is JP`s version of the Novarossi 421B i would buy the 5 port version instead.

The 421 was difficult to tune, did not hold a tune very good, average fuelconsuption, good bottom and top end.

I would rather buy a OS V-spec speed or an Rb C6BB

razzor 05-31-2007 12:13 PM

These engines are awesome but are more suited to fast tracks.Anything technical and lots of jumps then the FX21B-5T is much better.
The 8T has more legs on the top but how long are you at high rpm on a track. If you do use it id suggest going to a 13t bell or even 12t bell.

German Muscle 05-31-2007 01:13 PM

thats a Novarossi S821B. Ive seen a AB Mods one up against a JP Modded one like the one above, and the AB Mods had a little bit more power all around. It was also getting 10 minute runtimes on a big euro style track in a XRAY.

nice vid 2 is it posible to get it with out the music so i can hear the beast scream :D

BTW i love the Track its off guts!
were you geting 10min out of the AB or the JP

German Muscle 05-31-2007 06:48 PM

10 minutes on the AB.

Colt4g63 05-31-2007 11:06 PM

I might still have the vid before i had German throw some music in it for me. I'll have to look around my PC. :) It was very hard for me to pin it full throttle as it was sooo loose and dry out there that day. But i did pin it a few times about midway down the backstretch  It didnt help i had some old tires from a sportwerks RTR buggy on my Xray either... My modified 821 is deffinatly 1 of my top choices for a .21  great bottom mid and top end using a 53 pipe. And great fuel consumption to boot!

Nitro$junkie 05-31-2007 11:22 PM

cheers man that would be awesome :D
you wouldnt have any dyno runs of either the JP or AB version

Nitro$junkie 06-01-2007 05:47 AM

OMFG how is the thing its off its F@#%ing head :tire:

Colt4g63 06-01-2007 11:54 AM

I love these engines after i do my modifications to them. Like i said its deffinatly one of my favorite all around .21s I also use it in my 5T truggy. It has PLENTY of power for it. Most everyone runs 21s out there. And the 821 puts it on em :sneaky: Get with me if u want one done up :)

Nitro$junkie 06-02-2007 08:13 AM

OK cool do you do onroad engines as well

Yes sir. I have a small vid of one of a TC3's i had with a sirio EVO 3 i did in it goin up and down the street testing it out. Here ill shoot u that vid and let u check it out for yourself. Its a 2 speed i have the 2speed setup to shift very soft so i could keep traction around the sweeper at our local track. Dont want a high powered engine shifting all abrupt and throwing u into the wall

I really like these TC3s for the parking lot tracks around here. They work very well in the lots IMO.

I own one of these beasts.
In a buggy its excellent, very linear powerband with a wicked upper midrange and topend.

I used it in my truggy and it lacks the bottom end for a truggy. If you use it with a werks clutch and adjust for later engagement then it will work.
This is apparently JP's most powerfull engine. The internals are top notch. The casing inside has been worked, the crank is a work of art. The sleeve porting is beautifull.

I changed the sleeve with a P5 sleeve and must agree with razzor that the 5 port is a much better option. You can use any P5 sleeve and it will work in this engine. At least keep the option in mind. With the 5 port sleeve this engine uses more of its power. With the 8 port you get to 3/4 of the straight and it wants to only start delivering.

I use the novarossi 821 in my 5T truggy. But i do timing changes that really brings the bottom end to life, but yet still has a nice top end pull to it! I run 1mm springs and light aluminum shoes and a 53 pipe and it works great. On the track we run on it has a long straight so we all go up to 14 tooth bells and the 821 has MY modded 821s have NO issues pulling it right out of the corners!:sneaky: I actually really like these mills alot. Very smooth power delivery, but if u grab a hand full itll get u over a triple NP. I thik its a highly underated engine IMO. But then again mine are all modified to different timing specs...

Ok i was thinking that one but just wanted to make sure

Corse-R 06-06-2007 02:12 PM

Got a 5-T yesterday along other niceties just to try it with my 'Moguls Panzer' (aka MBX5-T) wanted to try one of those just to compare it with the Ninja B01 I have since day one.

This weekend is impossible to test it, but, next weekend I'll be breakin-in just to see how flexes their muscles and compare them with the B01.

Got the EFRA 9901 pipe along the std long manifold (double turn). Any comments regarding this combo? Many swears by the 9886 pipe, but.. is very hard to find actually here (too loud!).

Nitro$junkie 06-06-2007 02:16 PM

This engine works best with Novarossi 9886 or 9853 tuned pipes. The 9853 tuned pipe will provide more power on the bottom end with about the same top end as the 9886 pipes, however runtime will suffer. The best overal pipe for excellent runtime with smooth power delivery is the Novarossi 9886 with short header. The longer header will give a little more bottom end at the expense of runtime. The MSR1005 pipe also works well on this engine, but it also suffers from less runtime than the 9886 tuned pipes.

I use the same fuel brand I use on the 200mm and the 1/8 On-Road, Runnertime. Maybe there is difficult to get, but stick to a 'race blend' of a reputable vendor and you'll be fine. Choose whatever suits your personal preferences better.

Vendors doesn't state how much oil and which oils, but... should be around 10%. Few (very few...) state them.

Nitro$junkie 06-06-2007 11:15 PM

i noticed that no well named brands state their oil content I'm using AT Racing with a 25% nitro and a 5/5 oil mix i use it in my onroad 1/8 as well should be OK

Thanks Corse-R

Nitro$junkie 06-07-2007 12:15 AM

OMFG this engine has been the easiest engine to run in not one flame out even with the HSN half a turn out from stock it wants to start screaming about half way through the process gonna finish it tomorrow this thing is going to be nuts when its fully tuned

Nitro$junkie 06-08-2007 01:59 AM

finished up running in me engine very pleased with it, it's one of the best engines to run in it has been very kind to me almost got 2 liters threw it still got to race tune it she's on the rich side but still goes like the clappers any one thinking of getting one of these engines don't have any doubt its very user friendly a looks like its going to be a top performer
