Conrod Question
Hi,
Can anybody here tell when is the time to replace the engine conrod? I'm planning to replace my piston and sleeves and I'm not sure if I should replace my conrod. Thanks in advance. |
If you are replacing your piston/sleeve, then it's logical to replace the Connecting Rod at the same time. Rods are replaced as a preventive and maintenance, meaning you should replace it before it breaks.
|
Are there measurement guidelines for replacing a connecting rod? For example, if it visually looks to be in good condition (no cracks or stress marks), are there specific measurements to help determine its replacement. Is there a guideline on measuring the bearing diameter and roundness to the crankshaft pin and piston pin?
Thanks. |
