Maybe it did not go thru.

Anyone thinking about one of his engines. My X12 was awesome. The most reliable engine I have ever run.

Later.

Tim
I sent him an email on sunday and got a reply on monday. I asked about the Sirio STI, JL Picco Red Dot, and Ninja .12 and his reply was that his favorite engine right now was the JL Red Dot. So that'll be my next major purchase.

Hi. The stock Head Clearance on the Ninja .12 is .27mm, or .0105". This is OK for 16% nitro, but to run 30 you will need to add at least one .1mm shim.

thanks, thats kind of strange, there is a thread somewhere that says I should use .36 total head clearance for 16% and .56 for 30% is there a reason why the ninja has much less head clearance? how much total head clearance would you recommend for 30%?

I am using on my Novarossi LS3 which has a flat top piston .39mm actual head clearance (not solder method) using 30%. I found that the solder method gives me a larger reading that a true digital measurement. I used this HC at Winternats with no problems. Sometimes I will have to go to .5mmHC in a .12 using 30%, but that is rare. The Stock Novarossi LS3 HC is .29mm. This is perfect for 16%. Even 20%. To go to 30% you need to have the head around .4mm to be safe. This is with a non hemispherical piston.
On the Ninja stock HC is .27mm. Very similar to the Novarossi. I would treat shimming the Novarossi, and the Ninja the same. Basically add at least one .1mm shim to run 30%.

Hehe. Not exactly sure, but it looks as if someone removed the cylinder with a screwdriver, or a 2.5mm wrench.

This is an expensive lesson.................and I wasn't the one that did it. I'm not sure who did it. Next time, I will just wait and have Grinder do the work.
