Just got my Murnan modified RB C 12, complete with power sucking pullstart. What can I say other than Damn its quick!!!
& it seems to be just as reliable & easy to tune as a stock C12.
All the guys running their Novas & X12s are gunna cry when they get their A$$es spanked by a pullstart. . I cant wait to get my real engine done now for the non club races.

Grinder, I'm not a "pro" nitro racer, but I can appreciate quality workmanship. Looks to me like your work is top notch. My delima is that I'm getting into 1/10th onroad(into 1/8th buggy now) this coming spring, and am trying to figure out which motor to get.

I'm a big Nova fan so am leaning towards either one of your modded NS12S3's or the stock NSR12S5. There's no Roar racing where I live at the moment so it doesn't matter much if its Roar legal. Maybe in the future though. What would you suggest?

Colorado ... Novarossi's are nice engines, I love mine, they are not that hard to tune at all. I would say buy the S5 if you do not care to race!

I like quality stuff, and every Nova based engine I've owned has surpassed my expectations. Its just that I've never had a .12 . I've had a few Nova .21 buggy engines, and a Nova Mega .15 a couple of yrs ago in a Serpent Impact. These small blocks have made incredible strides in just the last couple of yrs. Unfortunately they don't give em away so hopefully I can get the right one the first time.

You can't go wrong with the NSR 5 port, or the NS12 5 port. If you don't care about rules then these are the engines I would choose from. The Sirio 5 port is not bad either, especially for the money.

Default ROAR Rule Changes

Grinder,

Just found out that Turbo plugs are going to be allowed for all nitro classes in 2004. I think for .12 touring, the limit is still 3 ports. The question I have is do you see any advantage running a turbo plug versus a non turbo plug with the type of modding you do on the engines or any engine in general?

I think turbo plugs are better. They help in performance a little bit, but the main advantage I have found is they last longer under high compression. With a mod motor there is more fuel/air going into the combustion chamber (more compression), so yes a turbo plug is better for a mod motor that a standard plug.
