You are comming to the Winter Nats will you have items for sale there such as the picco plugs. I just picked up a Mugen from someone I think you know (Brian Nak-----).
One more question there is a ofna starter box I can pick up for a good price see pic is this a good box for my needs.

Maybe you don't have them in your store, but this doesn't mean they don't exist
And I would recommend GRP or Sirio plugs over original Picco plugs for the simple reason, that Picco plugs aren't the best at this moment, just like Novarossi is also poor quality....
Yes, Picco/GRP/Sirio, are exchangable....
Oh, another reason, they cost way less then Picco....

Ok I found the Sirio plugs at ashford hobbies for 6.75. (1720127)
The GRP plugs I could not find for less then 11.75.
Kamikaze sells the picco plugs for 8.50.

you should be ok with the Sirio ,i would recommend not using the GRP plugs on the Picco engines they dont seem to seal properly on the head button..

Thanks I am going to order a few. I dont understand the statement about the p7th and p7tc I always thought the # indicated the temp.
Then I looked at some Kyosho plugs while I was browsing and found they had plugs markes S09 hot and S09 cold.
Does anyone have experience with the starter box i showed a few columns down will this work for me ofna10250.

Actually, Serpent teamdrivers running the Mega engines last year (like I did), recommended them to me....
About the price for GRP plugs, here in the Netherlands I can buy a set of 5 GRP plugs for 32 Euro, while 1 #7 Picco plug will cost me 9 Euro....

P9 EVO 2
Ok I now have the P9 and I was wondering about a few things.
As this motor was used when I got it I wanted to go thru it (piston and sleeve are new).
I pulled the motor apart and went ahead and replaced the outer bearing since I had one but no matter how much I heated I could not get the inner bearing out (any thoughts). ???
Secong was the head shim it measured .49 does anyone no what the shim would be for 20-25%?
I was told they had it set for 30%.
The motor by the way is in great shape with lots of compression tight fit crank to rod (also have extra rod).

Put piston at TDC, and then unscrew the cooling head and headbutton.
Measure the distance from top of liner to top of piston.
Also measure the distance the headbutton goes into the liner.
The difference (head clearance) should be around 0.2mm, but I have seen headbuttons where this distance is 0mm.
Now shim the headbutton, until the head clearance is 0.5 - 0.55mm for 25% Nitro, at sealevel...
Put piston at TDC, and then unscrew the cooling head and headbutton.
Measure the distance from top of liner to top of piston.
Also measure the distance the headbutton goes into the liner.
The difference (head clearance) should be around 0.2mm, but I have seen headbuttons where this distance is 0mm.

i have seen that a lot of ppl take this numbers as standard.[i have seen the same numbers for novas.
but i dodnt think that they will have the same compration.i mean different cc in the buttons.
what do you think?

Nova's are more in the range of 0.6-0.7mm, Picco's are between 0.4 and 0.6....

Shims
Thanks M7H for the help I took the head off and measured both the piston to top of cylider and the depth of the button.
The piston to top of cylinder is 3.33mm and the button was 3.14 to equal a .19 clearance so I will need a .31 shim to be at .5.
As you can see the button on my Picco is 3.33 not the .4-.6 you descibed not sure why.
