Default problem solved?

did a quick idle test for leakage (about half tank) after applying some rtv (previous nite) to the carb 'neck' where it goes into the engine.
idle gap about 1+mm to keep it idling.

seems to be ok at temps of about 80+degC.
will go to the track to re-tune and do some high temps check.

I though that I answered the question. You should use 2 .2mm shims for 25% and you can add .1mm more if you would like to be on the safe side. I would recommend using 25% you will have some better milage as well as easier on the engine with no real power loss.

thanks xs.

is my LSN or HSN still too rich if there's abit of oil 'spitting' out of the carb inlet? (filter is removed).

however temp my .12evo3 and is running at 120+degC.

No that is a bit normal as the engine is at a low speed then speeds up as long as the engine is producing good power and running at a good temp you are good to go!!!!

Default oil leak or too rich?

hi,
previously encountered unstable idle and found oil leaking from the carb 'neck' fitting into the engine.

upon close inspection after removing the carb; found a small tear on the carb neck O ring, replaced with a new O ring and refitted carb to try again.

now there's no oil seen at the carb neck area after a few hard runs and idle is ok now. temps at about 270F.

however noticed that there's oil on the LSN rubber sleeve. what's the possible cause?

Does the IDM .12 engines have stronger internal materials than the JL Red Dot? What advantages are there of IDM over the JL Red Dot if any? I love my Red Dots just want to step up!

The engines have a smaller crankshaft intake track then the JL. And the sleeve is slightly different.
