well guys , just got back from the South Australian state titles.
i ran the JL evo 3 tuned motor with the 2607 pipe. i also ran Ninja 6 plugs. i changed one plug all weekend in 3lts of fuel .the engine nipped up on the starter box for the A final which i finished 5th. the engine has great power, but its still a bit tight. when it loosens up a bit more i feel i can get a bit more agressive with the tune. i tuned to just make 5 mins, temps were low and power was good. top speed wasnt lacking at all. very very happy with the engine.

i am using runnertime 16% ninja 6 plug, and i kept the 0.2 shims. after 3lts of fuel, the engines still a bit tight, but clean inside.

0.2 shim is enough for 16%? i thought 0.3 is for 16%?

We had a weird thing happen this weekend. Our JL evo 3 would run really good for 2 laps then fall on its face for like 5 seconds and then pick back up. It would do this for the entire 5 minute qualifier. What do you guys think was wrong?

the tuned engine has a 0.2 shim under the sleeve. so this raises the head clearance, then the 0.2 shims on the button make it 0.4mm . its actually shimmed for 20%, so running 16% i would remove one shim. but the engine was still nippin up on the starter box by the Afinal. so i left the 0.2 shims alone till it loosens up some.

Yanman, are you sure its not a radio glitch at all ? the throttle may become unresponsive for a short period of time if you have a glitch ?

I am sure it was not a glitch. It was really weird what it was doing. My buddy is pulling the car apart to see if it was something in the clutch or car. I had zero issues with mine all weekend.

You are using the wrong plug. #7 plug is for a .21 engine.

I raced my JL .12 EVO 3 this weekend for the 1st time. Using Byron Gen2 30% fuel. 2607 pipe. This engine is awesome. I race at 301 Raceway. This engine keep up with all the high dollar engines.
