lol, $114 for the piston and sleeve plus $40 for the con rod....

might as well buy a new JLR every 2 gallons, im not sayig you over charge or anything Team Kamikaze, its just the engine is so close in price to the rebuild kit you're better off buying a new one

If tuned and ran properly the engine shouldnt need a rebuild in 2 gallons.. Hell even the rod might not need to be changed in 2 gallons. I would pull it down every gallon or 2 to check the rod though. I've had many engines over the years that didnt need a rod change for 5-6 gallons.. And these were engines like Sirios and Novarossis that i ran hard that are notorious for wearing rods during break-in due to the fit being extremely tight! But the JLR isnt like this... it doesnt have that overly tight pinch to begin with that wears on the rods... Just something you need to keep check on if you want to have a long lasting mill. And this goes for any engine.. If the rod is getting a tad loose then spending 40$ on a rod is just a drop in the bucket compared to not changing it and it destroying ur whole engine if it fails. My .02

Only because We are selling the engine at a low introductory price, once it is back to regular price then it will justify.

I had an OS .12cv-r that Lasted about 14 gallons. Then I sold it but it's still running with the original p/s.

Whatever the future will be, thanks for giving us a great motor for a reasonable price. I'm glad to see some of the manufacturers stepping to provide affordable power for those of us that don't have deep pockets.

I have 8 tanks through it. Had to rush today, with the wife and grandchild with me . But started leaning it out. Had no temp gun I could keep my hand on it with no problem, guessing in the 175 F range. Got second shifting. So far so good. I still have to lean it out a bit, hopefully this weekend. Engine shows a lot of promise. Everyone who knows me knows how happy I was with the speed of the CRF. This seems to be a keeper too in my book and a good deal for the price. . Oh I am using an RD Logics turbo II pipe. I will be inspecting the engine tonight or tomorrow.

Guys, a friend of mine has this engine in the Philippines. He bought it from another friend of ours who was a guest racer. He's asking me to get parts for it namely the conrod and bearings. How much would these things cost? How much if mailed to Florida or direct to the Philippines? Thanks...

I hear that the conrods on these Red Dot engines are not a problem, although the internal engine parts are basically the same as a Mega ZX12. Is it true, or have people been breaking rods?

The rods on theses engines are the "T3's" which is the latest rods made by PICCO, theses rods are way stronger than the previous rods that came with the old ZX12's, and NO... people are not breaking rods on the JL's, and as long as you properly Tune the engine and replace the rod regularly.
