Also, Ive heard that the skyline pipe works well with it but is there a best choice for this motor when it comes to exhaust. Any other input would much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
20 SMOKE is correct on the pipes and regarding the shim, I would add the extra shim (.1mm) that came with the engine.

Thanks for the input! I will try the 2617 and add the shim for 30 percent.

tuned right, i would say 5:20 to 5:30 easy, depending on the size of the track.

i ran 301 with no issues with my EVO II, and my trackmate the same with his EVO 3

these are the fastest most fuel efficient motors i have ever seen.

go ahead somebody.... HATE ON DATT!!!

hi guys, i have a problem with my picco 2607 pipe. while i was racing with it, the engine(jl3)suddenly stopped at the end of the straight an when i struggled it to restart, the engine never rev. then. it seemed like its too rich(like 4 stroking) and never revved up. when i leaned the engine, nothing changed. i removed the pipe and cleaned it. restarted it and problem solved. made a couple laps on the track and the problem again. changed the exhaust and the problem totally solved so how can i fix it? i dont want to spend another 100 bucks.thanks in advance.

Check the inside of the pipe itself, sometimes a piece of exhaust gasket gets stuck in the chamber causing tuning issues.

That is exactly what happens, piece of gasket gets in the last chamber and then pressure from exhaust gases pushes it traying to get out through stinger and blocks the whole pipe.

You have to inyect high compressed air through inlet, and watch thriugh stinger until piece shows, then try and pull it with a spring puller or some pointed wire....Iīve had that problem 3 times, those Picco gaskets are terrible, I donīt understand why wonīt they go to the standard format like every else....makes me mad...
