I had one 2 years ago and it was made by Sirio (Star Engineering), based on the Sirio Evo 2, and with Mauro Collari's hand mods, and a special low garvity cooling head. It was the most powerful .12 engine at that time.
Break-in as any engine. Since it has an AAC sleeve/piston you need to warm it up several laps before attempting needle tune ups.

Specs

Manufacturer: LAMBERTO COLLARI MOTORSPORT
Base: SIRIO Evo 2
Bore: 14.0mm
Stroke: 13.7mm
Crank: TURBO with 8.0mm inner dia.
Carburetor: 3 needles, composite/aluminum, Interchangeable Venturi 5.5mm
(Base Settings)
High Speed - 5.5 turns out
Low Speed - 3-1/2 turns out (Generally this should be flush with the end of the slide)
Mid Range - Flush then one turn out.
Sleeve: Hard chrome aluminum
Ports: 3 transfer + 1 exhaust
Bearings: Front 7X17mm, Rear 11.2X21 mm
Head: Turbo with 0.20mm + 0.10mm shims (good for 25% Nitro)
Cooling Head: 52mm dia LCG
Timing: Transfer:114
Boost: 114
Exhaust: 159
Induction: 213
Max Power: 0.83hp @ 33,700 rpm (SAE Corrected) with 20% Nitro
Max Torque: 29.0 oz/in @ 19,600 rpm (Sae corrected) with 20% Nitro
Max. RPM: 41,000

For 16% Nitro you may take out the 0.10mm shim.
ZX 12 has more low end power. Collari more top end....but it is relative...depends on how you gear each engine.
Also don't forget that the Collari is an old version of Sirio, it is not based on the new T3 or STI versions.
If you are planning on jumping into Sirio based engines, better get the standard Sirio STI, or the Murnan modified version.

Yes the Sirio and the OS plugs are cut the same way... For 16% nitro, I would use the OS. P6 or P3... The Sirio plug to use if you can find it is there #6 plug. They're the hot plugs and you should get alittle more power from using a hot plug with 16% fuel... .02

Patto, I'll give you my old one on Sunday to have a look at if you like. Let me know if you want me to bring it.

Cheers,

Mike.

thanks rc_alan for the info.

Zoom, do you have a sirio, or collari ? im frustrated with the ZX12, and i think ill sell the TZ with a mongoose. looking for an interim motor to finish the season off thats gonna hold its tune. but it also does help if the pit man uses my own fuel and not someone elses

do these motors inherit the crank problems of the sirio engines that broke crankshafts ? if they do , is there a way to look after it any better ? thanks.

The one I've got is the Collari LC12. It is sirio based but it comes in a collari box.

I'm not sure if it inherits the same crank issues. My conrod never lasted long enough to find out. The motor I have at home is only 2 race meetings old and the top bearing in the conrod is gone. This is of course just my experience.

I'll show it to you on Sunday.

You know if you get a better pipe your OS will be a better motor than one that's design is 4 years old.

If you end up buying the collari, let me know, I can sell you almost a complete motor for spares - cheap!!

Just my 2c.

Cheers,

Mike.

There is no link, the engine is no longer made, it's more than 2 years old....just read the posts here you have more then enough info to compare.
