Default To EB mod or not to EB mod

So I have narrowed it down to a OS TZ .12 3 port for my MTX-4. Stock the engine is round 200 but I found an EB modded version for 300. I plan on getting into some racing at my local track which has a 250 feet long by 70 feet wide. I want to have a bit of an edge. Is the modded version going to be worth the extra 100 bucks or will I notice a difference?

Can't wait to tear up this killer track

I would recommend you not to buy the EB mod OS TZ. You can get a Novarossi Plus 12-CT for about $325-330

I suggest you go with stock OS 12 TZ 3Port it is not worth the $100.00 bucks, if you want a faster motor go for the Nova Rossi 12-3CT

I will suggest the same, Modded is ok but in a large track like yours, you are better off with a Novarossi. I have the EB Modded TZ and I don't feel like I have an edge, Although is relatively new.

See if you can find it cheaper than 300 since I've seen it for 245 go for it, otherwise spend the $325 for something else..

I have found two places selling the novarossi Plus 12-3C for 300.
Is that the same as the Plus 12-3CT?

I provided you a link on my previous post. I don't know if the site shows the price for the 12 Plust CT but you can either call or e-mail them.

big t

that novarossi is no joke, i have heard from other pro modd guys that the os falls a little short on top compared to the Novarossi. But i have also heard that grinder has said for a huge track, the SIRIO is king on the the long straits. josh cyral rab for team magic and had a sirio in his G4 and won some big race with it, they said he was pulling 5 to 6 car lenght on every one in thet race. ya so any way just my two cents. if you are looking for a good mod guy with good support and outstanding work look at the murnan modifieds thread, he is awsome. his thread name is Grinder. 12+3ct great choice. hop that helps.

Yeah the EB mods isn't worth the $$. I watched one run and it definately is slower that the V12 Rody Roem 3 port turbo...lots slower. Great choice on the Novarossi - break it in and let us know how you like it.

The tz is an excellent motor for $200 but if you are looking for something faster I would suggest an LS3 tuned or plus 3ct(the Mega MF Mosmo is the best varient) for its broader powerband & increased torq. The Sirio STI is also a good motor for large tracks.

The 3ct is the ifmar/roar version with the turbo scoop crank and the 3c is the efra version w/o the turbo scoop.

I would recommend the Sirio Evo 3 STI...they are superfast and do not need to be modded....www.murnanmodified.com has them pretty sure for less than 3 bills..hope this helps.
