Does anybody know if they make a INS box for .12 motors ? I know that they make them for 1/8th scales. Thanks guys.

The INS box, since in .12 engines isn't mandatory (but... is a matter of time) you can pretty much use the ones used for .21's but are bulky and could be some problems fitting it in such sleek body cars that 200mm cars use.

You can try with the Mugen one who is less bulky and easier to put into 200mm cars.

In Germany they are mandatory in 200mm and we run mostly the ones from 1/8.

Mugen makes an INS box which is smaller but the filters are expensive and of very bad quality

here is the mugen INS box that everyone is talking about roger. anyway, the airbox fits perfectly fine in the 200mm sedans. and unlike the previous post says, i dont see ANYTHING wrong with the airfilters. the filter is a special one though, it shorter and its offset to clear the engine cooling head. if youre looking for one, i can direct you to hobbyshop that has them for sale.

Here, one of the filters cost 8.5 Euros, that's what's wrong with them. Secondly, they are glued very poorly and the foam comes off easily.

For the large INS box, which also fits nicely under a 200mm body, I buy 2 filters for 6 Euros.

the guy who im a mechanic for tried this at this years nats and we found that the Mugen box reduced the engines power quite a bit (Nova N12LLT3) so ended up taking it off, but it makes a really cool sound , but i wouldnt use one unless it is in the rules of your club/national orgainisation

Roger,

I suggeted this to Aron a long time ago and I think we should do some testing. I have an MTX4 now and I have an 1/8 INS box. I like the looks of the smaller ones though just for weight distribution.
