I wouldn't tell anyone at the track what you've done to your motor... Let them come and ask you what The Hell are you running or you must be running 40% nitro... Then say NAW... Just a little something I did.... Then walk away smiling...

guys, my frenz followed the cyrul WOT break in method, but was so disappointed with it, coz right after the break in, we dismentle the engine and found that there are vertical scratches of lines in at the side of the piston (between the top and the 2 groove lines). may i ask if there is anything that we have done wrong?

it sounds like that your motor rev too high in the WOT and you should richen the needle to gain lower rpm.....

hmm. so thats the main reason for the lines. i think it sounds true. so i guess next time shdn't have rev too high. but which means cyrul's WOT method is not working out for me. WOT for 3 tanks, then followed by another 2 tanks.

First question... Are you trying to break in the OS Speed TZ .12 or another motor??? Just had to ask that one... As for Cyrul's break in method, read Cyrul's method again.... You need the motor to be super rich both on the low speed needle and the high speed needle... Just having it fat on the top will not work... With both needles fat and set correctly... Adjust the idle screw so that the motor won't die... Then do the WOT as per Cyrul's mothod... You should run out of fuel very quickly... Don't even think of tuning the motor for racing the first day even if you've gone through 10-12 tanks of fuel... Take your time with the break in and heat cycle the motor between breakin tanks... You won't have any issues if you follow his directions and don't listen to every one at the track in your face telling you to lean it or it's ok to race the motor now... Remember, you'll breaking in a .12 motor and not a .21... They're smaller and requires alot more TLC... It could be the difference of having a 1 gallon motor with no nuts... as to a 4-plus gallon motor with some BALLS...
RC motors cost to much money to waste them breaking them in the wrong way... .02

Anyone know where I can get a piston and sleeve for this motor just in case I have to replace it.

Tower Hobbies has the piston and sleeve in stock. $40 for the 5 port and $60 for the 3 port

Being that the price for the 5Port sleeve is cheaper than the 3port, is O.S. saying that the 5 port has less power than the 3port, therefore making it more desirable? Or is it the quality of materials?

The 3 port is legal for ROAR racing, the 5 port is illegal. They jack up the price on the 3 port because they know people will buy it as a legal race engine.
