Default EB Modded OStz .12 VS. Team Orion CRF Wasp .12

Has anyone owned both of these engines, or have any insight to help me decide if it's worth going from an EB modded tz to a Wasp. I havnt ran either one and was told that the differences should be negligable, but wanted to hear what the rest of the community had to say.

Thanks!

I haven't run an any EB modifed motors but the standard OS TZ is a solid motor and more than enough for any club racing. Now if you haven't bough either one I would suggest going for the Orion CRF or Sirio STI before shelling out the big bucks for a modded motor.

Thanks for the reply Mark. I forgot to mention that I already have the modded motor on hand fresh in the box. Before I install it I want to know if I should go straight to the orion. Supposingly the EB moded OS is good for 1.3-1.5hp???

Cheers,

Sal

Wait for the full results of this weekend's Nats and take a look at Josh's lap times. If he smokes the competition, you know that the engine has the potential of beating everything currently out on the market. If that's the case, it will come down to how well you can setup your car, tune the engine and drive.

I have the Orion and it does have the power of a 5port with incredible gas milage but in my opinion its not worth spending the bucks the top motor when you already have one of the top motors.

Awsome replies guys...keep em comming.

I held the wasp in my hands today...awsome little pump. The looks alone sell me, but something tells me to stick with the EM OS.

Cheers,
Sal

Numbers wise, on paper, O.S. is claiming that the EB Mod 3-port generates 1.9 HP @ 36,500 RPM and the 5-port 2.1 HP @ 38,300 RPM.

Scoobs,

You will be extremely impressed with the EBMods motor. Make sure you hold on to something when you pull the throttle going down the back straight.

I seen the EB Mods run, but it still got topped by the Rody V12 425 ROAR version. Regardless it is without a doubt a fast motor for the $$$. Break it in and give it a try.

I just finished break in today. Now im going to adjust the clutch and start to hammer down a bit.

Ill see if I can get some vids up when I have the car running how I want it to run.

So far the engine seems like a beast...so much compression that if the flywheel sticks...heh...get the hammer and chisel out to get it...LOL JJ, but almost true. I feel this motor with the Mk.2 Pro is gonna be a beast.

Cheers,

Sal
