thanks in advance!

BTW - I just called back and they don't have any of the CRF Turbo plugs. Based on Rick's post, they won't show up for another week or so. Hope this one doesn't go bad on me before I get a few extra ones.

Yes I plan on posting my review here:

http://www.pro-hobby.net/review/show...duct=20&cat=14 - RC Review Zone @ Pro-Hobby.

Anyone else can feel free to do the same for the motor. I have a few friends that are going to be doing the same there.

Guys, I just checked the engine I tested and the glow plugs look to have the same taper as the OS plugs. So these might work in a pinch. However, they ARE slightly different than the Novarossi type, so be careful.

Be careful in what sense? That it might damage the engine?

You're going to get your engine before I get mine, so I'm going to wait for your review before I break mine in.

Make sure you're camera crew is ready - or better yet, just use a tripod.

No I don't think it will damage the engine any, but, the plugs have slightly different tapers and shoulders on them, so one might not seal perfectly if used in the wrong application. Less than perfect seal can equal loss of power. That was the whole reason to change to turbo plugs in the first place remember!

By the way, I will be running mine tomorrow, so I'll let you know how it works on the track!

Josh - Is there anything you can share with us regarding your testing at Crystal Park? What % Nitro gave you the optimal performance for the track?

Thanks!

From Josh in an earlier post:

We are testing at CRF - the track is a little small but it is quite warm and humid. Also, it is indoor and 100% enclosed so there is no airflow across the track. In my opinion, not ideal for creating good engine performance but yet everything is still running great.

As the World Championships are only 16%, that is the nitro content that we have been testing. While we talked about testing 30%.... I will save that for a larger track as the engine already has too much power for here.

Not sure if this goes for crystal.

I was hoping to get some feedback on Nitro % based on some outdoor run time. I saw the video and thought, "What's up with this Area 51 type testing?"

After spending the afternoon yesterday running the CRF engine, I can definitely say, that this engine has serious potential! Granted the settings of the clutch and two speed need to be adjusted to take advantage of the power curve characteristics, this engine shows definite signs of brilliance. One thing to note: The engine really likes to run off the corners with part throttle, so precise 'roll on' throttle control will reward the driver in dividends!

Once tuned, the engine purrs like a kitten, and revs like a F1 car! I was easily motoring past many full modified top racers engines with ease, and my engine is still completely untouched internally, as in bone stock! I haven't even changed the head clearance!

The RRR gearing needed to definitely be adjusted from the 23/17 55/59 I usually use to 22/16 56/60 to again take advantage of the atypical power curve. But to all the naysayers out there... with the proper set up of the car, this engine has proven to be quite lethal on the track!

Next time out, I will get a little braver with the engine set up and try a more agressive tune to really see what power can be extracted from this little Gem!

Sign me up, I will be racing the 1/10 on-road nationals with this powerplant!

Stay tuned as I will post more of my findings later as I get deeper into this engines potential!

BK

I'm looking at a new motor as I'm getting a little frustrated getting my current LL3 to tune in, top end fine but bottom end cant make its mind up whether to be rich or lean, so I'm just waiting for this motor to hit the British shores.
