I have seen that you recommend 0.5mm gap and almost 0 end play but I do not know where to start the spring preload (just a good starting point and I will adjust according to the track conditions). I would appreciate if you confirmed that the above set up seems OK and if you advised the spring preload.
Thanks
Hi,

For starters I would use the engine in the original configuration and once you have it setup you can try the optional parts, one at a time so you feel the difference.

For the preload, you need to use something around 1.5 and 1.7mm maybe more. You can't really use the clutch to change the feeling, the clutch is setup right or wrong, there is not much in between. If you want to change the way the engine runs, you need a different pipe or header.

What should the minimum setting for the CRF2007s high speed needle? We have 8 crf2007 on the track here, everyones high speed needle is between 3- 3.5 turn but mine is about 2 turn. When I reset the needles to factory setup and try to readjust the engine (4 turn HS), she does not moves at all. She is doing well when the HS is 2.2T and race performance can obtained only at 2T or 1.8T for HS. Any comments? Thanks.

I'm using G4S too and I'm very satisfied with the performance of the engine. I'm using Skyline VR12Plus pipe, black extra hard clutch spring, red hard clutch shoe, two weights installed in the fly weights, and 1.6 mm preload. My gearing is 18T first gear pinion and 25T 2nd gear pinion, with stock spur gears. My track is fairly big, with very long straight. I try mugen 2501 pipe too, but with skyline pipe I can adjust the engine more stable manner. Good luck.

Perhaps Nano can show us the differences. That would clear things up.

The differences between the 06 and 07 are small. It's not like the 06 was wrong, the 07 is a 06 with small optimisations.

The ports on the liner are different and the milling inside the cranckcase is different. Many of these changes are very minute, but make a difference when you add them all together. Each optimisation improves a certain aspect of the engine.

But it's not like they are obvious when looking at the engine, you need to measure the parts to see them.

We have to keep a few secrets don't we^^

I don't think the picture really shows how much different the BCI is. I fitted mine yesterday and I was surprised how much harder it is to get the filter over it.

I also did the conical head button, a tune on the bench has been done but i haven't has a chance to get it in the track.
