The best way to obtain the parts, is to call Team Orion directly.

Hello guys.
I read on a post back there, somewhere back there (so many pages ...)
I would like to question, so I can understand:
Is it no good to change the bearings on the CRF to ceramic ? If so, why ?
This engine can(or will, or should ... I am still studing all that is said about it too, thinking on getting one) run hotter than the midstream engines, right ? So a ceramic bearing would be better, no, they have a lesser dilatation(SP?) ratio, or I am off ?
Also, I am looking into someone selling one here with a good price tag(I am in Brazil, its not so easy to get RC stuff here. So, getting from him would be fast and cheapper than importing now ...), but I bet it's the older carb. version. He is holding this engine for some time now, he got two, and did not like/know how to handle it. Anyway, I diverge. Is it a big problem having to run it with the old carb version ? As I said, would be very hard for me to update it(see importing ramble above...).

On another question, the clutch. I run G4S. Using the red shoe, and the black spring, will I have what it takes to set the clutch ? Very tight track here, with mid to low bite, but very abrasive.

Well, hope I did not bore you guys, thankx for any info!

See yas...

My buddy ran his CRF in a Mugen MTX4 and got it dialled in big time.
He stripped 2nd gear after 2 laps and still managed to keep the pace for the 15 min final won by over 8 seconds over 2nd placed Serpent running a Masmo.
This was with the old type carb ,trick was the clutch with a 1.8mm HPI clutch spring. He just kept adjusting the spring tension till it woke up.
So I guess a liitle bit of effort can bring good results.

I have a WASP CRF without the latest carb and have enquired in the UK for an upgrade. I was just told the new one is 51.99 = $100.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is just plain ridiculous. I thought this was a free upgrade or if not free then a nominal fee.

If I cant get the new carb I'll be sending it back for a refund

Cheers

I got the needle holder for free and the carb body for Euro 23.50, looks like you are screwed by your lhs, you need to ask for the official up-date with the free needle holder.

Thanks for the info. Just wondering why you aren't using the shoe that comes with the clutch.
