It should definitely be before then. The first .21 engines are testing now.

I would say that Josh is a qualified expert. If Josh says it's good - then it's good. It's his reputation on the line and I'm sure if the engine couldn't put out, he would just tell them so and you wouldn't see anything posted here.

itchy b - The engine isn't hard to tune at all. There is a difference from most other engines though as it does tend to make different sounds than other engines do when the tune is off. For example: when the bottom end is rich, it tends to sound like a normal engine would when it is too lean. When it is too lean, it almost sounds like when a normal engine is too rich... It's hard to describe. I spent a tank just playing with the bottom end needle just to completely understand the sounds and feel that was coming from the engine. Once you understand that, it's quite easy. The best part was, after cranking around on the needle for a tank, I shut the engine off adjusted the needles right back to where I had been running the engine. I fired it back up and took off like nothing was ever done. With the thread pitch they use and the tapers on the needles, the engine tuning can be very accurate.

WheelNut - I saw some prototype .21 parts when I was there but no word on a development schedule or release.....

I was looking at an advertisement this morning and there are optional carb needles that can be purchased. Are you using the stock ones or these other ones?

Thanks!

All the testing was done with the stock needles. I have a set of the optional needles but I won't have a chance to test with those until after the Reedy Race. The tolerances on them are impressive and they are each marked with identification rings (needle #1 - 1 ring, needle #2 - 2 rings, etc...)

As far as that link, that's pretty cool. Are you looking for my feedback on the listed items??

Any feedback or additions would be greatly appreciated.

i.e. Is there anything on your car that isn't listed here? Is there anything that's not on your car that you would add? Is there anything we should be aware of when when using some of these parts?

Did you have a chance to browse through the V-ONE RRR Knowledge Base? I bet you guys would want that too! (Link in my signature.)

Maybe you could convince the Team Mugen Seiki guys to donate a chassis to the cause and I'll make one for the MTX-4. Even a used rolling chassis (complete) will do.

A guy at my local track has been asking me to run Outlaw class with them, so they have enough guys to run each time we race. They need at least 6 guys to run and sometimes they are just one short. An MTX-4 with a Ninja would be purrr-fect.
