Hi,
I don't believe that you will extract the maximum potential from the Wasp REV in the NTC3 chassis as ...
* The pipe design is quite restrictive (dual 180 bends).
* The 2-Shoe clutch design doesn't permit for much adjustment, and the clutch is critical to performance with the REV.
Hope this information assists with your decision.
Cheers

Thanks for opinions, but I would like to know somebodys experience. I think I am not first one who will try this combination. And yes NTC3 is a bit old, but by my experience no problems with speed - both corner and stright - compare to 710, G4S or RRR. I try this car last year for curiosity, it takes some time to find setup, but then OK. Only old RB X12 is not best powerplant.

Or is it just the neadles they've changed?

From what I was told there is an updated needle holder and a carb insert and a carb case. I don't know for sure what difference they make but was told that yesterday. I'm still looking myself.

impalabob64

Is this with just the revised carb mods, if so do you think returning to the standard clutch settings is now an option or do you still need the late engaging clutch?

Bobby,

Looking forward to your results. I haven't had a chance to swap my parts out yet, cause I'm breaking in two other engines and needed something to race with. I will be racing with the new carb parts in two weeks. The biggest thing for me, is how well the engine deals with a change in humidity, which has been the biggest cause of all of my headaches. In the morning, it runs perfect - in the afternoon, nothing but grief.

BTW... I consider the new parts a "fix" versus a "mod" - but that's just my opinion.

Good luck at the Fort this weekend.

Rainer

Missed that in your title previously, it's a Murnan Modified CRF.

price drop

is there a reason why the price for the engine has dropped in price significantly over the past few weeks. i was going to purchase one 2 months ago but held off, now i'm glad i did because it dropped $70 on some sites.

i'm not implying anything is wrong just curious as to why.

Reason most products drop in price:

1. Competition.
2. Initial demand is over.
3. Newer products are on way.
4. Manufacturing has gotten cheaper.

Possibly because dealers are selling off their old stock without the carb modifications.

What were they charging before??

I paid $265 U.S. for mine when it first came out (Ultimate Hobbies). I checked Tower Hobbies just now and they have it listed for $255.38. The Peak Diablo CRF at Tower is still listed at $314.99.

The new carb parts will cost you about $28.90 U.S. + shipping.

Thumbs up Murnan CRF

Well test is over ,the engine was insane, pass everthing on the straight away ,the engine temp was around 240* ended up in C main after breaking the car twice ,smashed 2 brand new jp 2601,s,end up going to the 2630 which made the car even faster my pitman was like dam, what in hell did Uriah do to the beast.I passed a couple of 12 plus 3 ,siro ,and maxxpower12.So the engine will hang with best of the best when setup properly.heres my gearing setup for the 720 17/60,22/55,crf clutch set,2 grub screws in each clutch shoe. GREAT JOB URIAH KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
