Also, gearing wise for everyone out there: If you try one of these motors you really need to adjust the GEARING!!!

I ran today down in Toledo where I have a ton of laps. The engine was working well but seemed a bit off of what it could be. I dropped the gear and the engine was soooo much better!!! It was like I dropped in a new motor. Everyone remember, this engine likes to REV so be careful to not hand too much gear on it.

Gearing for past engines @ Toledo:

17 / 23 Pinion
61 / 56 Spur

Gearing for Wasp REV @ Toledo:

16 / 22 Pinion
59 / 56 Spur

Keep this in mind when you hit your home tracks to test out the engine!!
I second that!!

I ran some more today @ Crystal Park and found the same to be true.

I might add also:
Run your clutch a little tighter than you would normally too. This helps the engine come into the 'sweet spot' much easier without any hesitation.

My normal clutch spring setting
Kyosho red 1/8 spring @ 2.0mm preload

My Wasp clutch setting
Kyosho red 1/8 spring @ 2.20mm preload

I am running similar gearing as Josh
16/22 pinion 59/55 spur
This is with 60mm rear tires and 58mm front tires

Any idea how much timing this thing has? The crank window looks to be 1/2 the total diameter... and that exhaust port Looks very cool. I might have to try one out.

Hello, I am new on this forum, I am from Europe. I would like to ask Josh which pipe you are using and which plug.
And how is your engine power compare to others since you have been at Toledo ?
Thanks for your time.

Anyone know when this engine is going to be available in HongKong or Japan. the only place I have seen it is RC-Mushroom and even they show it out of stock.

If you know where it's available could you please post a link.

If I am not wrong, induction open at 15 ABDC and close 70 ATDC, transfer 124 and exhaust 172.

Additional engines will be shipped this week. Great Planes/Tower, Horizon, and Ultimate Hobbies will get more. As of right now, HRP Distributing still has about 10 in stock. They do not sell direct to the public, but your local hobby shop can order one from them.

Rick, Not sure if I missed it, but what is the deal with the glow plugs. Can we use others like rex or os till my lhs gets in the orion plugs?
Thanks

I saw a post a while back that O.S turbo plugs will fit but I may be wrong.

They will. We suggest the Orion plugs becasue they will produce slightly more power.

RC-Toro has them in stock but they only sell in a set (5 plugs).

Rick,

What is the difference between the Orion #6 turbo plug (p/n ORN88811) and the #6 turbo plug (p/n ORI88826) listed in the CRF manual.

When will the plugs listed in the CRF manual be available from Great Planes & Horizon?

Mark
