Battery engine starters

Hey guys.....I was wondering if it is better for the engine life in the long term if u started it from a engine starter? Like the battery operated ones which u sit ur car on and it revs it instead of u using the pull start.

YOU MEAN A STARTER BOX?

if so it just makes starting easier. as the starter box can turn the flywheel prob 10 times a second. whereas a pullstart prob can only do it a few times every pull.

in terms of engine life, prob no difference, but if you remove the pull start, it does give a few more hp, coz it dont have to spin the one way bearing.

Cheers mate...thanks for the advice

oh, yeah and starter box the best investment you can make in nitro racing. i consider it an investment coz it should last you for a few years. get a good one like the mugen B11 box. yes its expensive but well worth it.

the thunder tiger one is good aswell.

there are lots of cheaper starterboxes which are really crap.

Yeh thats wat i thought they would be worth getting.. and yes i will look into it... so is it easy to remove the pull start so u can attach an engine starter box?

XingXing 04-23-2006 05:15 AM

are you talking about a shaft starter? like the drill thing? dont get that.

start box is what you want, and u can still have your pull start install when using a starter box.
