I have not but after the huge difficulties (long break in and piston scratches) with the new 9 port engines the older 7 port engines are more wanted.

Regarding the timings most 7 port do not differ from the 9 port versions, some do look even a tiny better. So I do not think you will be disapointed.

I completed the track break in this weekend (heated to 200F before starting each time). I plan to disassemble the motor and take a look before putting a race tune on the motor this weekend. Seems like a decent motor for large tracks.

Awesome mate let me know
how'd you find break in? As difficult as 2104?

Hopefully propeller break in mine this weekend for next week's racing 💪

The break in was shorter than normal, no issues. No oil bath on this motor due to the piston/sleeve fitment being more loose when compared to the last 2104 & Euro's I've had (took about 50% of the fuel it generally does to achieve the correct pinch).

Motor seems decent, very smooth & good top end. I plan to race it at the event next month. So far the Euro is still my favorite at my home track - Steel City Speedway in the US. Shimo should be a good engine for large high speed tracks.

Thanks for the reply mate,

That is awesome information. Hoping I can do 1-1.5L on the bench and finish on track within half or a litre or so but is what it is.

Id like to try the Hasi 7 port which i believe is Euro based

We have a local racer, Christian Velez (current ROAR US National 1/8th champ) he's a Hasi team driver as I understand it. He's very quick, his 7 port motor looked very strong.

It is awesome, nothing like any other OS engine. Had no problem with any scratches.

Hamish, did the engine come to life after? Or still a bit flat?
