Front crank bearing shields
#1

I have a front engine bearing for a Novarossi (Which is not oem. but from a 3rd party supplier) It has a rubber shield on both the front and back of the bearing. Is it OK to install as is? or wondering if the shield that will be at the back of the bearing facing the crankcase should be removed to allow fuel/oil flow to help lubricate the bearing in use?

Oem bearings on some engine's are junk and you can find quality bearings elsewhere. It is recommended that you replace both bearings at the same time. Removing one seal from the front and both seals for the rear bearings.
