Hi. I just got myself a brand new never run OS speed R21 Eurospec. The instruction sheet says its set for 25% nitro. Is anything required (Head shim change perhaps?) to run with 16% nitro?

On short tracks(and you want to squeeze all out of your engine) you can try without the copper shim(0.1mm) but in general I suggest you leave it as is.

Thank you Rody. I think I will leave shims as set from factory then. Will be running on UK tracks so there are a mix of some fast longer tracks and some shorter more technical tracks.

When would you run 0.2mm gasket?

Can you use on R2101 Piston and sleeve in Euro and R2103. Not sure if cranks or timing are different.

Yes, you can. Timing of the sleeves are the same, only exhaust shape is a little different.

I know most of you don't run GT but I do from time to time. In the US the R21 blue head is on sale. Has anyone used this in a GT? It's a 5 port so I think it meets IFMAR regulations.

Not used in a GT, do not own one but some club members do run it in an onroad, and it is a decent enging.

I did measure the timings and it is somewhere in between an offroad and an onroad so I think it will meet up with the needs of a GT but there is one thing, you probably want a larger head for a better cooling.
