Picco .12 engine
 

Hi, new to this and I have questions. A friend has a Picco XP .12 engine he wants to sell to me. It has a slide carb and rear exhaust. He says it is new, bought it and never ran it. The box says Trinity on it, but there is nothing like this at the Trinity website.

Does anyone know anything about this engine? Would it be OK for a new-to-onroad racer to start up with and move to something more powerful later on?
The only thing I've seen here about Picco (Mega) is that there is a new (more reliable?) connecting rod available; is there a connecting rod problem with this engine too?

BTW, he wants 100 bucks for it. Worth it?
