best engine to go with

i'm running a hpi nitro rs4 mt...and was wondering what the best replacement engine would be. I've had r/c cars for a while, deffinite not new to the sport by any means...but this truck is my first nitro. I've had it for a couple years now and love the world of nitro r/c's...i'm looking to replace the engine now due to clutch problems...any suggestions?

ive always liked OS motors for upgrades the OS .18TM is an awesome engine for the maxx. im not sure how well it would work int he HPI, but its deff a badass engine. i think you would be great with anything OS. if you want a nice big block id think about a picco or a collari .32

Hpi makes a nice .18ss motor that is a direct fit with no major modifications to the truck or chassis, and they are reasonably inexpensive. It makes good power in that truck.

those were actually the two motors that i was thinking about getting. I'm leaning towards getting the hpi motor just because it'll be a direct fit, and seems to still have some decent pwoer to it

The hpi .18 is the way to go in this case..even that motor makes enough power to break things on that truck ...I tuned one last week, it does make good power, i think you would like it.

Don't forget the OS .18cvr. There's versions of it that will fit the MT and it's only $100 or less depending on the version. More power than the .18SS, more reliable, and backed with with OS reliability tops it all off.

Even if it was a FWD RC car , it would do a wheelie. Which means yeah it would be quick as a bat out of a hot place. Probably the strongest .18 made.
