New main bearing
 

Gents,

in need of a bit of advice here. See pics. The new bearing wont go further any bit on the crank. I added 1 pic of the old bearing with the dimensions on it. A close up of the crank and the distance then new bearing wants to slide.
I even sanded the crank surface with 1200 waterproof but it just wont go any further.
I bought this bearing at dialledrc in the UK which also has the offset of the innerrace.

New bearing stuck

In addtion: tried to freeze the crank and to heat up the bearing. Didn't help a bit. It just wont go over the part where the seating of the bearing actually starts. Tried to measure any un-roundness of the inner race but couldn't find any differences in diameter.

I think you have the wrong bearing....

The original shows 6/6.3, and the crank counter weight has a full flat side (no edge to keep the bearing from the side. Probably the inner ring of the original bearing is sticking out 0.3mm higher than the outer ring.
It seems your new bearing is not and even in place It is not the right one.....

But that is not the reason why it does not fit, I think the bearing has wrong tolerances. I am busy with a drill/mill unit and has ordered 10x bearing 8x16x5, one of the bearings does not fit on the 8mm shaft, cheap chineese crap.....

I would conntact the seller and make a complain, please to not grind down the shaft to make it fit, another right bearing will give play....
Just get an original steel one, do not think ceramic will make a difference.

Hi Roelof,..the bearing does have the offset of 0.3 mm as I specifically asked for it. The website doesn't tell it but I knew I needed the wider innerrace for exactly the reason you're saying. In between I measured the innerrace diameter again. A couple of times actually and from various positions. It turns out the diameter measurements are between 14.11 and 14.18 which is more then a tiny bit off the spec of 14.20. In other words a tolerance which is way too much.
Im already in contact with Dialled RC and no problem to either send it back or send anotherone.
