Default Texas Racer needs RC fix in Ohio

I'll be in Akron, Ohio the 1st couple weeks in August and I would like to get my RC fix in. Preferably on-road but willing to go off-road to not go into withdrawals while visiting my wife's family.

Please let me know potential races during this time period or places I can practice. Need to get a good idea of what's going race wise and available practice tracks so I know what arsenal to bring.

Thanks in advance for your help. With a little luck I'll be able to get some track time Ohio style.

Thanks,
Daniel

The best closest place would be the Gate in Brunswick OH. I am not sure of their schedule but it's carpet on road.

Aug17th I am hosting the UF1 race in Cincinnati. It will be F1 cars and USGT on the asphalt on road track.

Toledo also runs an electric program on Saturdays and nitro on Sundays.

let me know if you need any more detail.

The Gate/NORCAR has a club race on August 3rd. They run 17.5 rubber TC, 1/12, WGT and F1 for sure. Other classes are 3 makes a class.

They are closed for the rest of August for new subfloor and carpet.

More information here: http://www.norcarracing.com/

Good facility and a good group of folks up there. I split my time between there and Monti's place in Cincinnati.

Been told The Gate's been getting quite a few VTA cars as well.

Auer Ace Hardware in Coshocton, Oh. Talk to a guy named Michael Hunt, he runs the rc side of things and is top notch with repairs or any questions concerns. He stocks TONS of parts and vehicles, and he personally does all the repairs. They also have their own track right down the road, which they actually have an event going on tomorrow (7/20/13). The track is mint too, very well taken care of. Michael takes it all very serious, not some backyard hack.
