Default Carb Insulators - what interval to replace?

Just thought of this the other day, I am replacing an insulator on a rebuilt Speed Spec II. But I was wondering is there any general "rule of thumb" when it comes to replaceing these?

Just wondering, this will be done in conjunction with a new PSR.

Are you talking about the lil plastic piece on the bottom of the carb?

I have never changed one during maintenance. I have had one get stuck in an engine once though.

I had to replace one a few years back on OS xzb blue head due to the fact some one had over tightened the carb screw. I sanded the carb body with 220 grit sandpaper and wipe it down with alcohol then I put a dab of epoxy on it! that did the trick.
