Default How to unseize engine ?

I have two O.S. Speeds that both have sat a lil too long and the rear bearings seem to have seized up. Is there any particular way I should go about unseizing them ?

Methanol/rubbing alcohol should dissolve whatever the build up is.

All of the above are good choices. The least expensive method I've used in the past is denatured alcohol....you can get a quart can pretty cheap at Home Depot / Lowes.

Pull off the carb, back plate, and head, then soak the engine in a bowl of alcohol for a few hours (maybe overnight). Disassemble and check all the components, then put some light machine oil on the bearings, so they aren't running dry when you first start it up again.

nitro fuel is probably the best method if you dont plan on disassembling the engine completely

when i do teardowns i clean some parts with a special blend of non toxic cleaners in an heated ultra sonic cleaner and the rest with straight denatured alcohol

good luck , let us know if you need anymore assistance
