Damn I wish I knew this new motor was coming out just bought my Triton L4 a few weeks ago and just broke it in three days before I seen the the new engine I would have gladly spent the extra 40 bucks for the DLC coated crankshaft and all the other new stuff on the new engine . SHIT !!!!

Hey guys, 2 stage idle on an l4 ...I just need to keep leaning the lsn needle till it's gone and then adjust idle through the idle screw ?

I would stick with the 7mm venturi, going smaller will narrow the tuning window and really wont gain any mileage.

Wow. Just ran my 1st idle tank threw this girl. I don't even want to say how long this thing idled. Just say out of the 8 engines i've broke in this thing idled 3 times as long as anything else i've touched. Hopefully tomorrow will be the end of break in.

Pretty amazing how well they run even on the very first start up!?! Same case here, expected to babysit them on the first idle tank but basically walked away with very little for hiccups.

Most of the guys are running the stock 7mm venturi or the Triton Duo venturi. On the L4/L5 you don't gain much if any mileage going smaller than a 7mm venturi.

I run mine with the 7mm Venturi and a #5 plug most of the time. I use 30% fuel from either bones or byrons and I get consistent 12 minute tanks out of my buggy. In race trim with the race trigger finger I pit at 10 to 10:30 with fuel to spare. There's no magic science behind what you have to do as a user. These engines just perform that well. If it's not getting the mileage then it's more than likely not running at peak performance yet. Lean that puppy!! If there's smoke and good power it's fine! Power will suffer as smoke diminishes when getting too lean and it will begin to sound flat right before you start getting to the danger zone........these things are incredible little mills! Also there is a plethora of knowledge here on this forum and we are all willing to help! Good luck and happy racing!!
