Default RC Concepts

Saw these on NB today. Looks like a Picco (backplate, head button, exhaust port, carb, and sleeve) with an interesting head design. Notched mounting tab is handy. Anyone have more details?

if their slightly under the price of picco mmm id consider them.. but hmm there are some routine questions that ll be raised.. and typical statements ie what is it that stands out on this engine compared to say picco and other brands or branded engines.. and what are the performance characteristics? , quality? , reliability? , prices on parts...

unless your a insider and close to the owner.. its early days for info.. lookforward to hearing hands on feedback on the engine(s)

the head itself does pose a classic but reinvented feature.. and is kool added feature

if there are people that have a chance to review it after testing the engine locally and in other countries interested.. that would be great.. sure will happen soon

Red RC posted a press release on this engine couple of days ago:

"The engines come with specially designed crankcases to prevent deformation caused by strong exhaust springs. . ."

Didn't realize that was a problem? Perhaps with 5-7port engines only? 3-4port engines have enough beef left in the cylinder they don't distort under exhaust spring pressure? Anyway found it curious as a selling feature.

Good looking engine. Head design makes good cooling sense to me. At least looks like it might radiate heat more efficiently than the now popular flat or concave cooling surfaces.

RC Concept is a new company based in France. The goal is to provide the best products to everyone. For now they have our Nitro engine line for 1/8 buggy and truggy, at the end of the month they will have electric ESC and motors, in january we will have 1/8 electric engine and esc, charger, tools and lipo batteries.

RC Concept engines are designed and build in France and machined in Italy by Picco. What make the difference in RC Concept for now is the quality of the assembling.

Basically all engines are « Team » as all piston-sleeves are tested and matched. It is the same for the tolerance between the bearings and the crankcase.

Reds engines are made by Picco but the characteristics are different, it's the same for RC Concept.

They will have have 4 nitro engines for now : 3 and 5 ports, ceramic rear bearing of not. The ceramic engines also have a balanced crankshaft.

They already made some test in France and the feedback looks really good.

The distribution in USA and Canada is just starting and few engines will be send to some drivers and hobby shop for testing.

We have received the product list a few days ago. There is a line of matching pipes that are the same numbers as the Picco pipes. There is also a full parts list. They seem to have their stuff in order and are ready to make a big splash into the Nitro engine market. We have the full ceramic 5 port shipping Monday to us for track testing. We will keep people informed of our findings. We plan to have Tanner Stees do some track testing in Truggy with the 5 port once we get it broken in and race tuned.
