Default question about my clutch

so the spring in my clutch broke and I'm getting that replaced would that be the reason why my car doesn't stay idleing or should I look for other problems I have a tlr-sct nitro

It is the same as in a real car as engaging the clutch while standing still or hitting the brakes. The motor will stall. Yes, that is the cause.

It could be acting like something stopping the flywheel. Does your engine cut out immediately or soon after you let off the throttle or come to a stop?

EDIT: What he^ (Roelof) said

Thank you I thought it might be the clutch and it dies when I let off the throttle I have to hold the throttle at about 1/4 position to get it to start

Fix your clutch and re-assess your idle. There are too many variables to be certain it is / was your clutch.
