P5xlt?
Was wondering if I could get some advice? I have a p5xlt with about a gallon and a half now. It's running like a champ and seems to be tuned good. Only problem is, it will be running for a bit and get to temp and when I let off the gas it just dies. When I go to start it again it takes a minute to get it running. The temps are between 225-250 max. I'm running it in a mbx7 with the nova c6tgc. Like I said it runs awesome not understanding the sudden shut off? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks

I wouldn't tune by temp this can cause all kinds of tuning issues. You should temp after a long race or qualifying as a bench mark. Novas take 1.5-2 gallons to completely break-in and you might be pushing too hard causing a HIGH temp. High temp will cause issues on a restart also make sure your pipe exhaust seals are sealing.. Pull your plug but careful debri doesn't drop into the button. Check for color and wire distortion. You want a tan tint, wet plug surface and your wire should not be white or distorted.
Whats your needle setting on the Low and High. |

You can lean the bottom in small increments. Also check your idle gap and linkages. Make sure your carb is being pulled back to close with any hangups. I always add a rubber band around the high speed needle onto the carb leg that attaches onto the linkage.

Sounds like your idle may be a bit low so once everything is heated up the idle drops a little lower then when its cold and it stalls. Try leaning your LSN a little at a time until idle stays high for about 15 seconds then turn it back down with your idle stop screw.

Thanks guys! i went to the track and tested yesterday and it ran good. i think i might have found my problem on the refueling stall. i noticed in my pressure line little bubbles. i did the submerge deal with the tank and the lid was blowing bubbles for days! no just need to figure how to seal the lid better..
