as houston said if you have a peak charger it will stop charging when the battery is full. what sort of charger do you have.

that charger will be fine. just leave it on charge overnight. you should look at getting a peak charger though. something cheap will do.

i use one of these. i don't run electric so it's all i need. does every type of battery.

Ok but what i am trying to ask is. Is it good or bad to charge the glow igniter from half charge, I know if you use a peak charger it will stop automatically but isn't it still bad?

maybe with a nicad battery. but with nimh it's ok. just discharge it every so often.

to give you an example. i will use mine one weekend, let it sit all week and then charge it up for the next weekend. then it will sit for 3 weeks and the do same thing next month. occasionally i'll discharge it.

Ok so how often should i discharge it, like every 3 months?

So would it be good to just give it a charge after use (I mean only when it starts to die but if i am going to the track the next day i'll give it a charge even if it is 3/4 charged) and then like every 3 months discharge it and then charge it up.

yeah that's the go. don't charge it up until you're going to use it again. my ignitor has a 2700mah nimh battery in it and i can get a weekends racing out of it. but if your motors not tuned right and you have to use you ignitor more you may not get that runtime.

Just charge it the night before you need it, don't worry about discharging all the time, just occasionally when you get the chance or something, your worrying about it to much.
