Air filter oil for off-road nitro engines
Hello everybody!
Which is your favorite oil for your air filter? I use kyosho, the blue but i'm thinking to change. Mugen or Losi? It's a little difficult for me to use the kyosho. It's sticky. |
No Toil. Only way to fly.

Its supposed to be sticky. go to a cycle shop and buy some foam filter oil. You get so much more for about the same price.
|
I like the kyosho blue stuff personally. I didn't like the Mugen or kyosho green too much.

I should add that if you like a thinner oil. Add some isopropyl alcohol to thin it out. Just make sure you let it evaporate after applying to a filter.

u can made ur own blend.
50:50 of marvel mystery oil and castor oil works very well. or if you want lil bit sticky get K&N air filter oil and mix it with castor so that it wont be too sticky. |

This stuff works good, especially if you wash and reuse filters. |

I have used new car engine oil for years, never ever had a problem & never had any dirt/dust get past the outer filter element. At the moment I'm using 20w/50 Castrol GTX & it only cost $5 for 1 litre here in Australia, probably cheaper in the U.S.
It last for ages, costs bugger all & does a great job, & I can wash them out easily in hot water & dish washing liquid detergent. |
Sticky oil on the inner, and not-sticky oil on the outer. Works a treat to protect your engine, and won't overly clog up your filter with dirt.

I'm using Twin Air Bio filter oil for Moto-X enges.
http://www.twinair.com/usa/twin-air-...wer-filter-oil It's very thin, which makes it easy to apply, but gets really sticky after a few hours. It is not based on mineral oil like most 1:1 filter oils. I don't like that stuff anywhere near my engines. There are many oils that do the job well, but there can be big differences on the price tag. Andi |

Losi oil is like hudy oil, a good oil but not a great oil. I have heard Kyosho is the best but I can't get it here in Vietnam. So I run the Mugen oil, VERY sticky which is what I like. If I am out then I would use the losi or hudy oil.
