As lots of people have stated, If they prove to be fantastic engines and start winning races they will sell allot. 10,000 engines at $350 a pop is 3.5 million dollars. World wide 10,000 engines sold is not all that many for a years time. I think after 2-3 years his equipment is paid for and its all gravy after that. Of course the engines have to be dialed for this to happen.

I can't imagine a new brand like this selling 10,000 engines in a year.. 1,000 maybe.. If that.

you'd be surprised. Like I said if the engine is good it will sell. A main alone sold almost 1000 OS speeds last year. Thats one retailer in 1 country! You dont think OS sold 10,000 speeds worldwide last year? Of course this is not an OS speed, but like I said, if it proves to be just as good, or even better, sales will skyrocket all over the world.
The bottom line is this. People who manufacture products and invest millions of dollars do research first. They have projected sales figures based on comparable products. The fact that this engine is made by Hudy and specifically designed to last longer and get better fuel economy may launch it to the #1 engine on the market, but its still too soon to speculate stuff like that until we get them on the tracks.

You do realize that Hudy does not live in Corporate America. Most countries like Slovakia offer long term government loans to local businesses in there country were jobs will be created. Unlike here in the USA in which the government or the banks could give two cares less about jobs but if that person has perfect credit and/or has collateral in case the business fails which businesses fail here in the USA quit often.
I am almost 100% positive this is the case and believe it or not most people when they get to a certain level of satisfaction with money or a career do things that might not make sense to others.

I'm very excited this engine is priced less than the OS speed and it will be a great seller I'm sure

Shane, Our order is coming in with the first USA shipment. They are not $500
They have a MAP of $379, but as everyone knows as long as a retailer does not advertise them for less, we are allowed to sell them for whatever we want.

Case in Point is the OS speed. They have a MAP price of $449, but Tower Hobbies sends out $60 off coupons so they actually sell them for $390, so MAP is a relatively useless guideline...any USA racers wanted to get your hands on one of these engines just PM me. We take really good care of our customers.
We will notify the public when they arrive.

I don't think you need to worry, a Novarossi Keep-Off 21-4 is 510 USD here.

All RC gear is more expensive here in EU due to taxes etc etc.

Eg: if I buy an $379 engine in USA it will cost me in total $606 incl duties and taxes
