Default Budget 1/8 Nitro TRUGGY Engine.....

Looking for A Decent Truggy Engine to use in my 8ight T 2.0

Would like to keep it under 200 bucks if possible...

But would look at good motors.. really wanting to keep it as cheap as possible.. Ive heared really good things about the Werks B2 engine...
Pros? cons?

A LRP .28 works great in a truggy. I got great torque, speed and fuel mileage when I ran one in my ST-RR.

B2 all the way for me, tried a friends P5 it was OK but I preferred my Werks B2. It seemed to get more runtime and it also seemed to have tons more power on the bottom. Now if you want a better one and the budget is not what matters, get a Bonitto or the Fusion X7, I have a Bonitto now that is almost brand new, going to switch brands to Fusion because I have only heard good things

Re Pros and Cons. Werks is a very descent brand. Their engines run great with their Werks pipes 'cause it seems like both constructed to run together. I used LRP .28 for a heavy old brick TT ST-1- very strong and descent mill, but rather thirsty one.

My conclusion: if you go racing, better get a .21 engine combo like Werks b5 and #2013 pipe because it gives you 10+ min runtime to save sec's on re-fuelling. If you go bashing, choose something with stronger bottom end like LRP .28 or .23 Alpha plus with #2081 pipe combo both being in your price band..

The only problem with the B2 is there are NO parts for it, if it breaks it breaks. Also the B2 can be a little weak on top end, but I did not notice that last weekend as I finished 2nd in my heat (buggy) Before I got my Bonitto I had it in both truggy and buggy, when I put it in my truggy everyone thought I was stupid, no way was a 3 port going to take a truggy around a track. They were all believers within 3 minutes. In Buggy it is insane on power, we had a double with a single after. I don't call it a triple because no one could make it a triple, well almost no one when they noticed I was making it a triple they quickly changed the track where if I made it a triple I would wreck. I guess they didn't like the fact I was shaving so much time off of my lap times On the straights the really long ones I did notice the other engines would catch or pass me, but it wasn't like I was standing still, just like I was petering out. I really like the engine, and mine is not original any more. When I say you cannot get parts I mean you cannot get werks parts for the B2. At about 2 gallons I broke my piston when I was replacing my front bearing, the piston was at the bottom when I pulled my back plate, totally my mistake. I asked Ron if they had any spare pistons and sleeves or if a B6 piston and sleeve combo would work, he said "NO" not unless I changed my crank as well, and by the time I bought everything I might as well buy a new engine. Well I had an old Orion laying around and I slapped the piston AND rod into my Werks sleeve, that was 2 gallons ago My Werks engine has about 4 gallons on it now plus break in, still no flame outs if it is tuned correctly and it still runs with the best of them.
