Dirt in pull start

So I just took my truggy bashing on a gravel soccer field and then brought it home and washed it with the hose pipe. (Its waterproof). Then I went to apply after run oil in the engine and when I went to pull the starter it did not want to take the rope back. I wiggled it a bit and i went in but the tension of the rope is a bit loose when the rope is inside and the handle attached to the rope is dangling instead of standing in the hole for the rope.

take it off, carefully not to separate rope spool from housing, blow it out while pulling rope out making sure spool doesn't come out of housing. Spray it with wd-40. re-assemble...
