Default Engine & glow plug question

Hi everyone, how you all going.
Got a couple of question about plugs in a couple of engines.
I recently purchased an OS 21tm & will use the LC3 long reach hot plug in it, is there any reason that the cooler LC4 medium plug should be used or will the LC3 suit all situations (hot/cold weather etc), Its a new engine that Im putting into a Revo atm. I will be using 20% nitro that has 12% oil.

I also just purchased a JQ Products "The Car" RTR with an Alpha 3 port engine & got some Mcoy #59 hot standard plugs to go with it, I will be using the same fuel in this one to. I read that the Mcoy #59 will also be ok for use in the 21tm engine, is this correct, if so, can I also use the OS LC3 plug in the Alpha engine.
If possible I would rather just have 1 type of plug that I could use in both engines.
I found an ebay store that sell the OS plugs at a good price so if I could use them in both engine it would save money & I wouldn't use the wrong plug by mistake.

Thanks for any help, much appreciated.

Wrong thread ??
Does anyone know if I can use the same plugs, I haven't had much to do with R/C cars over the last few yrs & not sure if these engines can use the same plug. I was going to order some so I have enough for both engines while I run them in & tune them.
Thanks.

the alpha in the jq should be a turbo head so use o.s p3 plugs.

as for the o.s engine, you need to go to thier website an see what plug is reconmended for that engine

Your Alpha statement is not completely true. If he got the 1st generation Alpha 3 port with the round silver head it is a standard plug with a pull start. I know because I tested the prototype when Alpha sent it to the former distributor. Now the new Dragon 3 port is a turbo but not the first generation.

If it is a standard plug I used the hottest plug I could find.

Yes, you can use the same plugs. Start with a OS plug in both engines. OS plugs are my personal reference plug (when it comes to standard plugs). If both engines run great, you can try the Mccoy plugs.
Hotter plugs (like LC3) will make the tuning easier and give you a more stable idle. If you keep ruin plugs or the engine backfires with a ok tune, the plug is too warm.

Yeah the O.S 21tm uses the standard long reach plug & it came with the LC3 in the box. The Alpha in the JQ buggy uses a standard plug as well but I wasn't shore if the long reach plug was suitable, I got told the Mcoy #59 was a good plug for it, then seen it mentioned that the mc #59 could be used in the OS 21tm engine so just wanted to check if both plugs were compatible with both engines. I will get some more LC3 plugs & grab a few LC4 medium plugs to try out as well.
Thanks for the help, Still got a bit to learn,

I read that a glow plug's heat range was just for ambient air temps. if its hot out use a colder plug, cold out use a hotter plug. etc.

(trying to find the link)....

In testing I ran the lc3 and got the best results. I have never had the best luck with McCoy plugs. But an LC 3 in the Alpha and you will be golden.

Thanks for that, & yeah I did read something somewhere saying cooler plug in hot weather & hotter plug in cooler weather & something about the cooler plug producing more power as well, but using a hot plug makes it easier to tune, has a wider tune window or something. I ordered some LC3's & LC4's so should be right there as its coming into hotter weather over here. Have a couple of Alpha N3 hot plugs coming as well so will see how they go to. Have to run both engines in yet though.
