19,950 works out at 245 usd or 192 euros.
Lots of engines at that price range. I think they'll have to sell it cheaper.

o.s. was rumored to revert back to the short stroke design.... i guess not. really disappointed in this new design. is that a plastic fuel nipple on a two needle carb? the extra machining on the cooling head edges makes it look cheap and picco-like. and why does it only have one carb retainer? does the screw thread staight into the block instead of the other carb retainer half now?

Only one screw on each side holding the block in! Guess you only use two screws to secure the engine too.

This is the new basic model, placed under the XZ-B blue head we will have to wait a bit longer for the new Speed engines.

even if you compare it to the base model (blue head) xz-b, it doesnt stack up, .05 less peak power and 8 grams heavier.

It's not supposed to "stack up". It's a low(er) budget engine.

the xz-b blue head is their "budget" engine now. why would they downgrade on an update. so in my eyes, yes it is supposed to stack up. the only thing justifying these lower specs would be fuel consumption, but even then i think i would rather have a little more grunt than 30 seconds more run time. this engine looks like an absolute joke. i like the older v-spec engines. i was hoping this new engine would be a fusion between the vz-b and xz-b

I don't think you realize what you are talking about. The regular XZ-B is NOT a 'budget' engine. The 21VG(P) is their 'budget' .21 engine.

Look at the market. For the price of a XZ-B it is competing with the Werks B6, B5 Pro, Alpha Lutz Edition, Alpha A852/A872, Nova Plus 21-4, Nova P5 XLT, RB Fire, Fusion X3, some of the Picco-based engines, GO GXII-5, etc.

The XZ-B is a performance engine, not a budget engine.

$280 for an XZB isn't really "budget", when you figure that there are a ton of engines $200-250 range. The XRB is listed for $245 (as someone posted above) and will likely sell a good bit lower than that, price-wise.

i know exactly what i am talking about! for the typical o.s. consumer(me) the xz-b (blue head) is indeed a budget engine. you are connecting price point with performance. i never said the xz-b wasnt a performer, i said it was a budget engine. the alpha lutz, werks b2, nova p5, picco 5tr, rb f11 are all budget engines, doesnt mean they dont perform. you see what im saying now? let me spell it out. for someone that doesnt mind paying $500 for a quality race engine, $280 is budget. i bought my blue head as a practice/club racing engine. youre comparing engines by price as i bolded above. im comparing them by features and specs. who the hell races 21vg's? are you kidding? thats an rtr/basher grade engine. is that what you're comparing this new xr-b to? an engine that uses standard plugs

I'm not comparing this new engine to anything... why? Because who knows how "good" or "bad" it is. The VG was mentioned because it IS the "budget" .21 engine by OS.

In consumer marketing lingo that would be called "value", not "budget". There's a VERY big difference between these two terms.

Are you saying Lutz races a "budget" engine? Are you saying Kortz races a "budget" engine? I think some of these manufacturers would have a bone to pick with you.

I'm sorry but your 'reality' where everyone is driving $500 engine simply isn't true. To say a $280 engine is "budget" is mockery, when that's the bread and butter of .21 engines. Ask anyone of the engine shops on here what level of engines they service/see the most of in their shop... I assure you they aren't $500 engines.

What features and specs have you compared thus far? Looking at a peak HP figure - which is so far off reality and real-world performance?

The only one saying the XR "doesn't stack up" is you... making presumptuous opinions of something that's not even in production. I'm done here.
