Default What is the difference between 10% and 20% fuel?

Hello, I have just purchased my first nitro rc car and was wondering about the fuel. After I purchased the car I noticed that I purchased 10% fuel when it says it requires 20%. Is this going to be an issue? Can someone please let me know if using the 10% fuel will be okay for now?

Thanks

The higher the number the higher the octane [87 vs 94 ] just like at the gas pump.

nobody i know of runs 10%. no reason not to run 30%, the higher the [percentage, the more nitro in the fuel the more powerful the engine will be. i wouldnt run 10%

I've run 20, 25, and 30 and do not think I have every seen 10. Personal experience I prefer 25 but can't find it locally any more.

What brand did you get?

Traxxas?

Did a Tower Hobby search, seems 10% is mostly used in airplanes.

Usually 10% nitro is airplane fuel. It will damage the engine. Airplane fuel uses different oil.

Less nitro = less power, but more runtime. The lowest I run is 16%. 20-30 is ideal for a .21.

10% is ok for break in, as long as its formulated for cars, not boats, or airplanes.
